Recently I noticed that I’ve started justifying doing things the long or difficult way by saying that they are “good for the soul.” And, yes, I do use that wording in my real life in the real world. That kind of justification reminds me of how grandmothers talk to their grandkids. Nonetheless, I really do believe in all of my new old-lady-catch-phrases. Such as…

Sewing by hand in good for the soul.

Parking far away for the walk is good for the soul.

Getting lost is good for the soul.

Writing out notes by hand is good for the soul.

Doing a nice thing for a complete stranger is good for the soul.

Dancing alone to yourself is good for the soul.

Making sauce from scratch is good for the soul.
